The Bible mentions a great host of people who will spend eternity in hell. In fact, the vast majority of people will be there! Jesus exhorts “Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. 14 Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.” (Matthew 7:13-14)
The devil and his angels will be in hell. “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels” (Matthew 25:41). “For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment;” (II Peter 2:4).
Those who do not know God will be in hell. “in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (II Thessalonians 1:8).
Those who do not obey the gospel will be in hell. “in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.” (II Thessalonians 1:8).
Those whose names are not written in the book of life will be in hell. “ And anyone not found written in the Book of Life was cast into the lake of fire.” (Revelation 20:15).
Those who waste their talents will be in hell. “And cast the unprofitable servant into the outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Matthew 25:14-30).
Revelation 21:8 identifies many who will be found in hell. “But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death.”
Imagine what hell will be like with such groups of the world’s worst! There will be absolutely NO GOOD THING in hell. Friend, will you eventually find yourself there? Your sin is the reason you will go to hell. God, through Christ, has made it possible for you to have forgiveness of sins so that you will not have to go to hell if you obey the gospel. Believe in Christ, repent of your sins, confess Christ, be baptized, live faithful, and you can escape hell (Luke 13:3; Romans 10:9, 10; Mark 16:16; Acts 2:38; Revelation 2:10; 1 Corinthians 15:58)
