The West Mobile church of Christ in Mobile, Alabama, is looking for someone to work with us on a full time basis. The elders are interested in a person who has developed good personal work strategies which have proven to be successful. Spreading the gospel through personal work is every member's duty, but the full time minister we are looking for must take the lead in this area. This person must have an excellent knowledge of the scriptures and be able to teach and convict the lost as well as encourage the members. Secular education is not as important as a sound understanding of the truth of the gospel and being able to teach and use this knowledge to spread God's word. We are not looking for someone to spend most of his time in the office preparing lessons to be presented to the members from the pulpit. We need an individual who will spend more time outside the building visiting members, making contacts in the community and setting up bible studies with the lost. The West Mobile church is the only sound congregation within the city limits of Mobile. Mobile has many institutional churches, but until the West Mobile church started there has been no sound teaching in the city since the early 1950's. Waipahu, Hawaii
The Leeward church of Christ in Waipahu, Hawaii (on the island of Oahu about fifteen miles from downtown Honolulu) will be in need of a sound gospel preacher to work with us in the fall of next year. Benjamin M. Shropshire is presently working with us, but is planning to return to the mainland in October, 2007, at which time he will have been with us for about three-and-a-half years. He is in his second work with the congregation, having helped to establish the congregation in January, 1963, and remaining with us until the summer of 1971. We would prefer a man with several years' experience, and who would be willing to stay with us for several years. We are willing, however, to consider any faithful man who would be interested in working with us.

There are about sixty-five members in the congregation, with a majority being Filipino members, along with several military families and other local people. Our Sunday morning attendance is usually in the seventies to eighties. At the present time we are able to offer a man about $500.00 in weekly salary, along with a completely furnished three-bedroom, one bath, house and utilities. Some additional support would be needed. Perhaps we could do more. Our very adequate meeting place is completely free of debt. We are a non-institutional congregation that meets on the leeward side of the island of Oahu. There is only one other small non-institutional congregation in the state.

Anyone interested would need to be willing and able to work with the different ethnic people of Hawaii and their cultures. We want a man who is sound in the faith and who is willing to preach both publicly and from house to house.

Waipahu is a small sugar mill (now closed) town, located on the shore of Pearl Harbor and with more than adequate shopping centers and stores. Population is mostly Filipino and Japanese. The church building is located across the street from an elementary school, and about a half-mile from the preacher's residence. Lincoln, Nebraska
The Eastside church of Christ is looking for a preacher to come and labor with the Christians here. Lincoln is the capitol of Nebraska, and has 225,000 people in the city limits. It is the home of the "Cornhuskers" (University of Nebraska).
